Studbook-IES...Studbook for Irish and European Sporthorses is celebrating its first Year in business. This Studbook aims to produce talented horses able to compete at the highest levels and has been recognised as a European Studbook approved by DARD and DEFRA. Based in Co. Down this New Studbook really does give Irish breeders of performance stock a viable alternative as regards registration. Those who choose to register with SIES can also benefit from the continued success of its full sister Studbook AES which continues to go from strength to strength. Studbook-IES recognises approved European Stallions and mares thus embracing the EU spirit of inclusivity. Studbook-IES will without any further inspection recognise approved stallions from European and British based studbooks and register the offspring in relevant section of its studbook. However for ‘Pink Papers’ the Sires must have competed at the highest level. Studbook-IES held its own STALLION GRADINGS in April last year based on the system adopted from ANGLO EUROPEAN STUDBOOK its sister studbook in GB – where performance is the key. The system developed by the AES has been the envy of the more established studbooks throughout Europe as it has the ability to talent spot superstars at a young age, horses like ARKO, MONTENDER, TINKAS BOY, ANIMO, DEFI PLATIERE, PAINTED BLACK, OVIDIUS, ANDIAMO Z , YARLAND SUMMERSONG, the last two actually AES born an bred, were all first approved by the AES and have gone on to be champions and household names in the sport horse industry.
